Lift Therapy is a clinically-oriented massage therapy practice owned by Cathy Howell, RMT and located in the mountain town of Fernie, BC.

Our focus is on treating acute conditions, post-injury care and sports rehabilitation. Through individual assessment, education, treatment and exercises, our rehabilitation process aims to decrease pain and discomfort while also reducing recovery time & the risk of recurring injury.

As an integral part of your healthcare team, our goal is to help you recover and get you back to your best performance and self.

CATHY HOWELL – BC RMT

Cathy Howell RMT has been practicing massage therapy for over 20 years. She incorporates a variety of massage techniques including neurokinetic techniques, active release, and active isolated stretching in order to provide you with a relaxing yet therapeutic experience.

Cathy is an active member of the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia (CMTBC) and Registered Massage Therapists of British Columbia (RMTBC). Cathy continues to educate herself with a variety of courses to expand her knowledge and treatment base.

Having grown up in Ontario, Cathy moved to the mountains in the 90’s to pursue her love of skiing & the outdoor lifestyle that Fernie affords. Her favourite Fernie adventures include skiing, biking, golfing & trail-jogging 😉 She raised her now adult twin daughters in Fernie and supported them in their pursuit of ski-racing and sport throughout their childhood.

Cathy’s love of sport & rehabilitation led her to pursue a traveling role with Alpine Canada’s National Ski Cross Team, as a Massage Therapist at numerous World Cup events & the Sochi Olympics.

Having spent years working and living in Fernie has given Cathy a unique understanding and passion for treating sports specific injuries. She believes it is important to understand each person’s individual needs, then help them take an active role in their own wellness.

Registered Massage Therapy is the manipulation of soft tissues, including muscles, nerves, connective tissues, tendons, ligaments, and joints. This clinically orientated healthcare option is an effective way to promote relaxation and wellness, enhance posture, movement, and body awareness.

We specialize in sports injuries & active rehabilitation for conditions such as rotator cuff & knee injuries, herniated disc & back injuries, muscle strains & sprains, tendonitis, whiplash and post surgery recovery. We are trained in many modalities and techniques to provide personalized one to one care to improve and restore optimal function.

Registered Massage Therapy Treatment – 50 min. session – $100
